The history of American copyright law originated with the introduction of the printing press to England in the late fifteenth century. As the number of presses grew, authorities sought to control the publication of books by granting printers a near monopoly on publishing in England. User-friendly and informative, this book is designed to help people understand copyright law in the United States. This book does not, however, concern itself with copyright protection for music. Chapters deal with information on copyright law, copyright notice, copyright registration, copyright infringement, and other related topics.
